  4. Week 3: Bruising/swelling resolved, natural rejuvenation, no visible scars

Top 7 Recovery Questions (Answered)

1. “Will I look terrifying right after surgery?”

Reality: Patients look great immediately after surgery. Swelling peaks at 24-48 hours but is easily concealed with sunglasses.
Video Proof: See how our patient looks immediately after surgery while still in the procedure room.

2. “How long until I’m presentable?”

Timeline:

  • Day 3-7: Bruising yellows (concealable with makeup)
  • Day 7: Some patients already near complete recovery at this time
  • Week 3: Social-ready (like our patient’s final clip)

3. “Does it hurt?”

Patient Experience: Most patients experience some pressure/pulling sensation during the procedure but generally tolerate the procedure well. Local anesthesia is provided several times during the procedure to minimize any discomfort.

4. “Will scars be visible?”

Depends on the patient. Most patients undergo a transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty as shown in this patient’s case. This avoids any exterior incisions and does not require any stitches. Some patients will need some external skin reduction and stitching or lasering. During your consult, Dr. Peyman will discuss your particular case in detail.

5. “Can I accelerate healing?”

3 Proven Tips:

  1. Sleep with head of the head elevated: 30° angle for 1-2 weeks
  2. Ice the eyelids frequently over the first few days. When done correctly, this greatly minimizes the amount of bruising/swelling.

6. “When is the healing complete?”

Most patients look great by 2 weeks but complete healing can vary from patient to patient and depends on the technique used during surgery.

7. “Could I need revision?”

  • It is very rare to need a revision. This is a high satisfaction and extremely low risk procedure.
